Jeffrey E. Jamison, Associate
Mr. Jamison joined Sperling & Slater in 2008. Mr. Jamison has represented a diverse group of clients in securities and commodities litigation, commercial litigation, appeals, white-collar criminal investigations, class actions, internal investigations and contract disputes, including cases involving securities fraud, broker-dealer disputes, SEC investigations, commercial leases, and numerous other tort and statutory claims. Prior to joining Sperling & Slater, he worked two years as a litigation associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
At Emerson College, Mr. Jamison received 175 + awards for speech and debate, reaching the semi and quarterfinals in multiple National Championships and winning the Interstate Oratory National Championship. At Harvard Law School, Mr. Jamison was an editor of the Civil Rights Civil Liberties Law Review and the Managing Editor of the blog for the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy. During law school, Mr. Jamison was an intern with the Office of the United States Attorney in Boston, Massachusetts, working in their Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force unit. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 2006 and was the recipient of the David Westfall Memorial Dean's Award for Community Leadership.
Prior to law school Mr. Jamison served as the Litigation Assistant to Prof. Laurence Tribe.

Representative Matters
Complex Commercial Litigation
Mr. Jamison represents commercial parties and individuals in a variety of complex business and commercial litigation. His representation has involved the areas of labor and employment (wrongful termination), real estate (commercial leases), commercial litigation (breach of contract), and mergers & acquisitions (breach of agreement).
Class Action Litigation
Mr. Jamison represents various constituencies in both defending and prosecuting class action litigation including cases involving deceptive consumer practices, residential housing and statutory violations by governmental agencies.
Securities Litigation and Investigations
Mr. Jamison has represented various constituencies in SEC and Illinois Securities Department investigations. These include representation of several individuals investigated in connection with alleged insider trading and an investment group investigated for alleged violations of the Illinois Securities Law. Mr. Jamison has also represented a broker-dealer in litigation involving an investor’s fraud.
Corporate Investigations
Mr. Jamison has participated in internal investigations concerning corporate fraud, securities violations, the restatement of financial statements, and statutory and regulatory violations.
Publications and Presentations
Mr. Jamison has authored three publications, Recent Development in Delaware Corporate Governance, Practicing Law Institute: Securities Litigation & Enforcement Institute (2007); Lessons Counsel Can Learn From Hewlett-Packard’s Pretexting Scandal, 14 Business Crimes Bulletin (2007); and Alkaline Batteries, Powering Electronics and Polluting the Environment, Winning Orations (1991) and Public Speaking for College and Career (1993).
Mr. Jamison was a panelist for the American Bar Association Equal Justice Conference (2008), “From Student to Young Associate: Keeping the Pro Bono Ethos Vibrant,” and co-authored supporting materials for Recent FCPA Development: Thinking Globally, Acting Lawfully (2007 and 2008); and Traversing the Slippery Slope: Challenges for Corporate Counsel” (2007). |
