Jerry Santangelo​

Mr. Santangelo is a trial lawyer with extensive experience representing major financial institutions, securities broker-dealers, RIAs, financial advisors, and individual investors in court and arbitration proceedings throughout the country. He personally has tried nearly 100 securities industry arbitrations to final award/ judgment, and he has won many multi-million dollar cases for his clients. 

Mr, Santangelo also has served as lead trial counsel in complex commercial disputes, including cases that led to some of the largest damage awards in so-called “raiding” disputes,.  He also has a subspecialty in trying emergency injunction actions in over 50 different state and federal courts that primarily involve disputes over restrictive covenants and confidential/ trade secret information.  

Mr. Santangelo began his career at Sperling & Slater, where he returned in 2018 after a thirty-year detour at Neal, Gerber and Eisenberg. 

Jerry was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1984 and the Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1988, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Seventh, District of Columbia, and Federal Circuits. 

In 1981, Jerry graduated from Miami University and its Farmer School of Business in 1981, and he earned his J.D. in 1984 from DePaul University, where he was Lead Articles Editor for the DePaul Law Review.
